PV*SOL premium 2025 released: work device-independently and manage licenses yourself

With the 2025 program version of PV*SOL premium (download here), we are introducing a new license model - from the previous device-bound to a user-based license model.

In future, you will be able to obtain user-based licenses, meaning one license per user that can be used on any number of devices, as long as this does not happen at the same time. With the new license, you receive all program and database updates and can always use the latest features. As a License User, you can easily sign in to the desktop application after a one-time registration. In the new License Manager role, you can manage all user licenses independently in the Valentin License Portal.

You can continue to use the licenses you purchased as part of the perpetual model indefinitely. If you would like to continue receiving updates after your software maintenance expires, we are offering all active customers an attractive introductory offer to switch to the new license model until April 30, 2025.

Further new features in PV*SOL premium 2025 include:

  • Energy balance now as a Sankey diagram: The Sankey diagram visualizes all energy gains and losses - from solar radiation to the AC energy fed into the grid. Unusually high losses can be identified at a glance and the PV system can be optimized accordingly.
  • Create profiles for user data: Do you work for several clients, entering user data manually each time until now? With the new user data profiles, you can create as many user data records as you like and simply load them into your projects.
  • Configurable CSV export of simulation results: You can now select specific data series for export. If simulation was carried out in 1-minute resolution, the time step to be exported can also be set in 1-, 10-, 15- or 30-minute resolution. This eliminates the need for time-consuming post-processing in Excel and gives you exactly the data you need.
  • NREL Meteosat as a new climate data source: The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) offers a high-quality alternative to Meteonorm or PVGIS data for the American continent, as well as Europe, Asia and Africa with the free climate data “Meteosat Prime Meridian”.

All new features and improvements can be found in our release notes.
